Aievoli, litigation support manager for the California Department of Justice in Sacramento, died Saturday of complications from pulmonary hypertension.

He was 48. Mr. Aievoli underwent a kidney transplant in 1987, while attending evening classes at Lincoln Law School in Sacramento. For health reasons, he never took the State Bar exam, focusing instead on a paralegal career. He joined the state Attorney General's Office in 1989 as a senior legal analyst, said his wife, Roxsanne Dominguez Aievoli.

Despite recurring bouts with pneumonia and other health problems, Mr. Aievoli showed up for work every day, put in long hours and never complained, said his boss, Chris Greene. Jay was born on November 26, in Pingree, Idaho to Italian immigrants Salvatore and Mary Decetis, who came to America to homestead acres in south east Idaho. Jay was the youngest of five children. In 1922 the family moved to the Sacramento area where he attended San Juan High School, then graduated from Sacramento High in 1931, and went on 10 receive his business degree from Western School of Business. He served as a first sergeant in the Army during World War Il, during which time he attended Washington Lee University. Upon his return to Sacramento, he owned and operated cleaners the four store known as 'Spotless Cleaners' and was of the Cleaners and Dryers Association, Retiring from that Industry in 1967, Jay embarked on what was to be a long and prosperous career in the real estate business with Moss Moss Realtors.

Locally renown in the industry, he was named Salesman of the Year in his first year, and soon became a member of the Real Estate Million Dollar Club, and received the Salesman Executive Award shortly thereafter. He was also presented with the International Sales and Marketing Association's Distinguished Executive Award. He was a graduate of the Realtors' Inand became the Training Director and Vice President in charge of residential sales for Moss Moss. He also served as Chairman of the company's Profit Sharing Plan. An avid airplane pilot and trophy winning speed boat racer in his younger days, Jay's love for boating continued his later years while cruising his powerboat along the Sacramento River.

Jay was Chairman of the Sacramento Marina Advisory Committees, and along with his wife Connie have been active members of the Sacramento Yacht Club since 1989. Jay has enjoyed the bull market years, and the recent opportunity to learn and actively participate in the market, using his computer at home. He have was fortunate to a very active life style up to his final days. Jay will remain in the hearts of his family for his gentle love, kindness and support that he shared with them.
