Elden Ring introduced the gaming community to the massive world known as the Lands Between. Despite it taking the beloved Souls formula to a new level that added in plenty of new design elements, the core of what FromSoftware has built its legacy on remained.

The game features dozens of friendly non-playable characters who each have their own stories and questlines. Paying attention and following through on these quests will often lead to beneficial rewards and plenty of narrative reveals. Many of the best Elden Ring missable quests are well worth your time, so don't miss a step!

As expected in this type of game, there are also numerous hidden and secret quests that you might easily miss during your playthrough.

13 The Return Of Patches

Patches (NPC) is a character that has appeared in all of the Dark Souls games, as well as Bloodborne. He's a reoccurring character that serves as an in-world troll for you. 11 Irina & Edgar

The Weeping Peninsula is a missable area in Elden Ring, despite being accessible from the beginning of the game. Once you cross the Bridge of Sacrifice in southeast Limgrave and enter this peninsula, you'll come across a young woman named Irina . She'll tell you that her castle was overrun by vandals, and her father stayed to protect it.

Irina asks you to deliver a letter to her father, Edgar, as she hopes it'll convince him to leave. He isn't easy to find but can be accessed via a hidden path located near the second Site of Grace you'll find while exploring Castle Morne, the home of Irina and Edgar.

10 Nepheli, The Tarnished Warrior

When it comes to missable quests in Elden Ring, Nepheli Loux's is one you'll want to complete, as she is the closest analog to yourself that you'll find in the Lands Between. She is a fellow Tarnished who you can first meet right outside the Godrick the Grafted boss fight. She's a brave warrior who showcases her strength by helping you take down Godrick if you use her summon sign.

Nepehli's questline is a bit involved, but if done right will resolve several NPC storylines, including that of Kenneth Haight and Fort Haight, Seluvis, and lastly, Gatekeeper Gostoc, who was last seen stomping on Godrick's lifeless body.

9 Alexander, The Warrior Jar

For Tarnished who search every last hill and plane in the Lands Between, you will be rewarded when you come across Iron Fist Alexander , a giant jar stuck in the ground near the Agheel Lake North Site of Grace. You must first meet Alexander at this initial location and free him from the ground to continue his quest, so do not skip this step.

Once you defeat Radahn, you will find Alexander along your journey at locations near the Fire Giant and then in Crumbling Farum Azula. Upon completing his lengthy quest, you will receive one of the best Talismans in Elden Ring, which boosts skill damage by 15 percent.

8 Ranni's Summoning Bell

Ranni has a long questline that covers many parts throughout your time in Elden Ring, but your first interaction with her is one many simply miss. This first introduction is crucial as she gives you the Spirit Bell that allows you to call on Spirit Ashes in battle. All you'll need to do is fast-travel at night to the Church of Elleh Site of Grace, and she'll be there waiting to have a conversation.

Do this directly after sitting at the Gatefront Ruins Site of Grace, where you're gifted your mount, Torrent, from the maiden known as Melina. Ranni herself is visually hard to miss, but she possesses one of Elden Ring's most missable quests, as there are so many steps and triggers to initiate before you reach its climax at the game's end.

7 Give Fia A Hug

At the Roundtable Hold, you'll come across a woman who asks for the warm embrace of a hug which comes with both benefits and drawbacks. Like many other NPCs in Elden Ring, she has her very own questline you can follow and complete.

Not only does her quest result in multiple different rewards, but it weaves in other NPCs such as Lionel, Ranni, Rogier, and D, Hunter of the Dead. Most of her questline revolves around speaking to her following key events, but as it goes on, it changes the way the Roundtable Hold operates and which rooms become accessible to you.

6 Rya Or Zoryas, The Scout

When it comes to Elden Ring's missable quests, we can't blame you for not knowing how to do this one on your first playthrough. At first glance during your initial meeting in Liurnia of The Lakes, Rya seems like a kind-hearted and devout scout for her master, albeit with a rather bad posture. Once you retrieve Rya's necklace, she will take an interest in you and invite you to Volcano Manor, later teleporting you there.

Upon speaking with her at Volcano Manor and advancing that questline, Rya will reveal her true form and name: Zoryas. While her true form definitely explains her questionable hunch, Zoryas' origins are murky to her at best. Help her find out more information about her mother and who Zoryas really is, but prepare for an emotional ride.

5 Roderika's Purpose

Roderika, a woman you'll encounter near the Stormhill Shack, offers a sobering tale. She tells you that she stayed hidden as she feared being grafted into some sort of monstrosity. You'll eventually find her back at the Roundtable Hold near the fireplace. Talking to both her and Hewg, the blacksmith who resides inside the Roundtable Hold, will eventually open up her ability to upgrade your Spirit Ashes and make them more competent in battle.

This is the reward for convincing both Hewg and Roderika that she can provide some unbelievable services for your journey. Roderika may move or disappear for a short duration during the story, but keep an eye out as you progress, and she will soon return.

4 Millicent's Bloodline

If you aren't careful, it’s possible to walk past Millicent entirely, shrugging off her cries for assistance as yet another grim reality of life in the Lands Between. However, if you encounter Millicent near the Church of The Plague and then mention her to a nearby sorcerer named Gowry, you'll be well on your way to completing this quest.

You'll need to bounce back and forth between Gowry and Millicent, slowly nursing her back to health. Eventually, she will appear at a select few Sites of Grace, even offering to help you after you equip her with quite an unusual weapon: a new prosthetic arm. Millicent's fate rests in your hands, so choose wisely, as the two outcomes for this quest offer different rewards.

3 Blaidd, The Half-Wolf

Blaidd is a fun character you can first meet and interact with within the Mistwood Ruins located east of the beginning Limgrave area. If you don't know what you're doing, Blaidd is easily the most popular of the Elden Ring missable quests. You'll want to talk to Kale, the merchant at the Church of Elleh, about Blaidd after hearing his howling while exploring the Mistwood Ruins.

You'll get a snapping gesture that, when used near Blaidd, will beckon him to descend to the ground and talk to you. In addition to having one of the more beloved Elden Ring NPC designs, his quest will showcase and define who Blaidd is at his core, shocking you to yours upon its riveting completion.

2 D, Beholder Of Death

A character so obtusely located, with an even more complicated prerequisite backstory, D, Beholder of Death is probably the worst offender of the Elden Ring missable quests. It's intertwined with not only Fia's quest line but also D, Hunter of the Dead's. It also has a handful of steps that can cause the ending of his quest to become locked out.

First located in Nokron, Eternal City, you need to give him the Twinned Set , but only if you got it from giving D, Hunter of the Dead the knife. If you get the armor from killing D yourself, this D becomes hostile. You then need to complete Fia's questline and revisit her body. D, Beholder of Death will be there. Exhaust his dialogue and reload the area again. You'll be rewarded with his armor and weapon.

1 St Trina And Thiollier

Both St. Trina and Thiollier are DLC-exclusive NPCs that can only be encountered in the Realm of Shadow. These two NPCs share the same quest, but it’s easy to miss because it’s well-hidden. While there is a high chance you will encounter Thiollier as you explore, he initially appears as a merchant, leading you to believe that’s his only role. However, that’s not the case.

It turns out that Thiollier knew St. Trina, one of the most mysterious NPCs in the base game. In the DLC, you finally learn more about her and have a chance to meet her, but she is located in a very hidden, optional location that not everyone will find. When you first interact with her, she seems to put you into a slumber, leading to your death. However, the trick is to interact with her multiple times so you can hear her voice and then talk to Thiollier again - This only can throw people off.

You might think the quest ends here, but it doesn’t. To fully progress Thiollier’s quest, you still need to summon him in the two final fights. This is typical of FromSoftware’s intricate quest designs.
